Surgery news

There have been a lot of changes at the practice recently. Dr Abbatt  retired after working for over 30 years at the surgery. He would like to pass on his heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to his retirement gifts.  Dr Jamil has moved on from the practice to further pursue his own career development.
Despite the national shortage of doctors we have recruited two new doctors who  start work at the surgery in August and September. Dr Marchant will also be working more days from October. Over the summer there will be various locum doctors working alongside Dr Wade, Dr Beedham and Dr Lakha to cover the lost clinics of Dr Abbatt and Dr Jamil until the new doctors start. In the late summer Dr Beedham will  be moving on as she is relocating with her family to Dorset.

The change of clinical computer system has been completed, on going staff training is taking place, so I appreciate your understanding as staff become familiar with how the system works. It does mean that we can work more co-operatively we the District Nursing services, Health Visitors and other medical services like NHS111 .

Despite all the recent upheaval I would like to reassure you that we aim to continue offering personal supportive healthcare to all our patients. With the aim to once again build a long serving clinical team who you can get to know and enable the ongoing continuity of care that is so valued by many.
Thank you for your understanding over the recent weeks,

Karen Gingell
Practice Manager
